Halewood is a large residential suburb of Liverpool located approximately 9 miles south east of the city centre and approximately 5 miles west of Widnes, benefiting from good transport links, via road, rail and bus to a wide catchment population.
The scheme is proposed to provide a new District Centre anchored by an Aldi foodstore with the benefit of a number of large non-food retail units constructed adjacent to provide mixed retail facilities. There will also be 8 smaller retail units provided for a mix of retail uses including bookmakers, hairdressers, café, takeaway, newsagents, estate agents and all other uses within classes A1, A2, A3 and A5 with a potential phase II providing a site for a public house.
The scheme will incorporate a reconfigured bus interchange integrated within the heart of the development, and a taxi rank running adjacent. In addition, the scheme will be served by 325 car parking spaces some of which are immediately adjacent to the new Health Centre.
